I’m reading a cool website, interneting is hard, and saw this ‘what is URL’ line:
For our purposes, a website is just a collection of HTML files organized into folders. To refer to those files from inside of another file, the Internet uses “uniform resource locators” (URLs).
And looks like I’ve never paid my close attention to what URLs are. For me, the URL was always just ‘a link’, but why is this abbrevation then? Now I know, it’s a uniform resource locator.
