Reduce Noise with a Low-Noise Adapter

I may want to try this for my silent mini-server:

If lowering the speed isn’t possible electronically, consider installing a low-noise adapter. These are inline resistors that reduce the voltage supplied to the fan, lowering its speed. They are inexpensive and widely available.

I installed a small fan, because otherwise the temperature is higher than I want it to be.
